DELYLA OVALLE-BOWYER

Original Alcohol Ink

With my art, I create in the moment, utilizing various techniques. I encourage you to find a face or an object. At times, we don't see past the layers, and I want you to see beyond the layers. What do you see? How does this make you feel?

Yellow

DELYLA OVALLE-BOWYER

Original Acrylic

8 x 10

100.

When I created this, I wanted to play with monochromatic colors. I used different shades of yellow. The lines almost look like an animal's claws. What can you tell from this painting? What resonates with you when you see the different shades of yellow in the middle?

Waves

DELYLA OVALLE-BOWYER

Original Alcohol Ink

6 x 6

100.

The original title for this was Azul (blue in Spanish), and then I changed it to waves. It looks like waves are forming from a storm. I see it as calming yet intense with the different shades of blue. What emotions come up for you? Do you see waves, and if not, what do you see?

Quarantine Confessions: Make-Up & Hair, Don’t Care

JULIE PELAEZ

Original Mixed-media

19 x 25

525.

Created during the early stay-at-home days, this artwork portrays the upheaval and subsequent piecing together of a life in quarantine and a new normal through painting shards and tangled thread. This particular piece is an acknowledgement of how make-up, fashion and primping had gone by the wayside.

Please Press Pause 13

JULIE PELAEZ

Original Mixed-media

Finished in glossy resin. Abstract composition of pause symbols from the "Please Press Pause" Exhibit. Gratitude list on back for collector to fill out to serve as a time capsule for what they wish they could pause in this season of life. Artwork is then renamed to the date of purchase to seal that moment in time.

In a Sentimental Mood

EBONY DAILEY

Open Giclee Acrylic

18 x 24

613.

"In a Sentimental Mood" by Duke Ellington is my favorite song. Whenever I hear it, I am transported to this place of peace and nostalgia. It's as if I am surrounded by loving and warm energy. Every cell in my body is experiencing the song. I hope that as you view this piece, it invokes something deep in you filled with music and magic.

With One Sultry Kiss

EBONY DAILEY

Open Giclee Acrylic

16 x 20

518.

That first kiss can be exciting and full of anticipation. But when your lips finally meet, it's like the world fades away and it's just the two of you. Passion and love are powerful emotions that can change your life forever. And it all starts with that first kiss. So cherish it, hold on it, and remember it always. I hope this piece invokes the love you have with that special someone.

Journal Entry #1

ASHLEY LAZARZ

Original Acrylic

36 x 36

700.

Journal Entry #1 is a deeply healing piece for the artist. It is an emotional release captured on canvas. The fragmented face, composed of a spectrum of colors, suggests the many masks we wear to conceal our true feelings. The somber eyes pierce through, revealing the raw emotion hidden beneath. In creating this work, the artist allowed her own mask to dissolve, embracing vulnerability and finding strength in that openness.

That was Then

JAC SMITH

Original Acrylic

30 x 24

1080.

Reconsidering the title of a piece after I’ve known it in specific terms for a while provides opportunity to evaluate its inspiration more clearly. This is the second title for this painting. The first carried a combative tone because it was inspired by an unfortunate event. When I look at the painting now, I cannot forget the original association but the new title, That was Then, puts the whole situation into a more truthful perspective.

2020

JAC SMITH

Original Acrylic

30 x 24

1180.

What a year! In 2020, the spread of COVID-19 challenged the entire world, forcing us to see life in an entirely different light. In some ways, I felt the experience was an all-consuming, destructive fire, but a fire can also result in a powerful, cleansing effect. While there was great loss in that time, there was also the creation of breathtakingly beautiful art, the natural cleansing of the environment, and genuine, heartfelt kindness expressed human-to-human.

Different but Equal

JAC SMITH

Original Acrylic

22 x 24

884.

Even with all my years of life experience, I never know for certain where inspiration comes from for my artwork. Experiences like layers of paint can simultaneously obscure and accentuate a concept. However, in the case of Different but Equal, I believe the subliminal notion originated in a discussion I had with my partner about how she and her dog held each other in mutual respect. The two are specifically different but also equally the same. When I finished this painting, I instantly knew the title.

Reflection

ANN JOHNSON

Original Oil

16 x 20

675.

"Reflection" captures the moment, just after the sun has dipped below the horizon, where the most vivid colors are reflected on the clouds in the eastern sky -directly opposite the sunset. The tiny crescent moon is just becoming visible in the evening sky. The sky contains the bold and bright yellows and oranges as well as the more subtle pinks and purples, all against the background of the vivd blue sky. This painting asks you to imagine and reflect on this fleeting moment ... before it all fades to black.

Color Fields

ANN JOHNSON

Original Oil

12 x 9

350.

A somewhat abstract painting of the flower fields at the Flower Barn in Blanco, TX, "Color Fields" captures the scene on a late fall day when marigolds and zinnias were in full bloom and the fields were awash in color! There was movement, too. The breeze ruffled the flower petals, the stems swayed gently, and there were thousands of butterflies fluttering about, drunk on the nectar of the flowers. This painting was done alla prima in an effort to capture the impression of the moment when all of my senses were engaged.

High Chroma I Butte

SARAH LESLIE

Original Pastel

13 x 11

320.

This palette was sparked by the Pixies’ Wave of Mutilation (UK Surf), and I wanted to push that energy into an abstract landscape built on saturated color. An underpainting established the bold, simplified expanses, allowing the high-chroma intensity of pastel to layer in texture and vibration. The push and pull of intense color and temperature shifts is what gives the piece its tension and movement. These works explore variations in composition while maintaining a consistent high-chroma palette and tonal atmosphere.

We Are Green

OLGA LORA

Original Oil

24 x 24

550.

Colors serve as a simple, emotional, and universal language. They encourage viewers to feel before overthinking. The painting "We Are Green" symbolizes growth. Blue and yellow are prominent colors. Together, they create a balance of peace and happiness, capturing the feeling of being alive. The composition is full and upward-reaching, with flowers spilling over the vase, representing abundance. The round patterns on the vase mirror the shapes of the blossoms, creating harmony within the artwork. The brushstrokes are lively.

Upside Down and Inside Out

SARA TRUMET

Original Mixed-media

48 x 30

1200.

“Upside Down and Inside Out” blends several of my artistic styles into a single piece. The background was built using various putty knives and layered colors, creating texture and movement, while the foreground dances on top, drawn with black acrylic markers. The abstract shapes invite each viewer to see something different and ask why certain images emerge for them. The title comes from the Diana Ross song “Upside Down,” inspired by a long-distance relationship that often leaves me feeling upside down and inside out—spinning, disconnected from my love, unsure which way is up, lost in time, chaos, and far away.

HAPPINESS

OLGA LORA

Original Oil

40 x 36

1200.

These artworks spring from a true love of color—it's more than just decoration for me. Color represents memory, emotion, and presence; it’s a way to express how we feel. Happiness is art and feeling. It shows that color is more than decoration; it connects to memory and expression. In this painting, flowers, layout, and lively brushwork all tell a story of joy as something alive. To me, happiness is layered and colorful. It exists in memories and in how colors interact. That’s why I use flowers—they symbolize fleeting beauty and strong emotions. Color takes center stage here. Bright yellows add warmth and optimism, while pinks and magentas suggest affection. Oranges bring energy, and deep blues evoke calm. The bold green and patterned blue background create contrast, making the bouquet feel vibrant.

Happy Flowers

OLGA LORA

Original Oil

24 x 24

550.

Each flower has its own world, full of harmony and surprises. In them, I find color combinations that are hard to imagine, but they end up looking so smooth and amazing together! Happy Flowers celebrates flowers as vibrant worlds with unique purposes. They carry feelings, memories, and rhythms, showing how color tells stories. Reds represent warmth, blues calm, whites space, and yellows light. Nature shows harmony in differences. Flowers rise from a stable base, reaching out in various directions, creating movement. My brushstrokes capture time and intent, contributing to a dialogue of color and emotion. Painting flowers tells human stories; they symbolize strength and balance, inviting viewers to feel and interpret. The artwork blends art and storytelling, with color as narrator and brushstrokes as voice.
